The Harold Webster Smith Awards were established by the Chamber's Small Business Council to recognize companies which have shown achievement and excellence in small business. The Chamber hosts this program to honor the legacy of Harold Webster Smith, founder of Webster Bank, who supported, and helped nurture, small business development within the Greater Waterbury Region. Nominations are accepted each fall, and the winners for Entrepreneur of the Year, Small Business of the Year, and Manufacturer of the Year were honored most recently during a breakfast on October 27, 2022.
The Health Care Council Awards bestows several awards to recognize companies and individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the health care industry. The Council’s Unsung Hero Award, Leadership Award, and the Health Advocate Award are all presented during an Annual Awards Breakfast. The Malcolm Baldrige Awards were established in honor of Malcolm "Mac" Baldrige, a former chairman of the board of directors of the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce. Baldrige also led the Eastern Company and subsequently worked for more than two decades as president and CEO of Scovill Manufacturing. He continually demonstrated his beliefs in community, leadership, and volunteerism as he worked for the betterment of the Greater Waterbury Region. The Malcolm Baldrige Awards Evening includes three awards inspired by Mac, The Malcolm Baldrige Community Award, The Chamber's Leadership Awards and The Chamber's Volunteer of the Year. The Watertown Oakville Chamber Awards bestows three awards to business leaders at each year’s Annual Meeting. The Community Leader of the Year is given in recognition of an individual who has made significant efforts for the betterment of Watertown and Oakville citizens. The Chamber’s Silent Advocate recognizes members of the local business community who are unsung heroes, those who often do a tremendous amount of work to benefit their community but their deeds are seldom, if ever, formally recognized. The Beautification Award recognizes individuals, companies or organizations for efforts that add to the aesthetics of the area by improving their properties or key access points to the community.
